Cathleen Lockhart, BSN, JD

Cathleen Lockhart practices law in San Antonio, Texas, focusing on probate, guardianship and contested family law litigation, as well as medical malpractice and nursing home abuse.

Prior to pursuing a career in law, Ms. Lockhart was a licensed registered nurse, working as a staff/charge nurse in the ICU, CCU and NICU, as well as Director of Risk Management with Columbia/HCA. She also worked as a Nurse Paralegal for El Paso’s Scott Hulse, PC from 1989 to 1992.

Seeing a chance to advocate more effectively for clients, Cathleen decided to transition into law and studied at St. Mary’s University School of Law where she earned her JD in 1998. She has worked for Maloney & Maloney as a staff attorney and the Texas Department of Insurance as Lead Counsel for the Division of Workers Compensation in the State Office of Administrative Hearings.

In 2000, Ms. Lockhart made the decision to open Lockhart Law Firm, PC, and has since litigated technical defects in conveying real property, and represented clients in probate litigation, guardianship litigation, partition suits, contract disputes, mineral and royalty ownership disputes, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases, and contested family law cases.
